Jeff Jarrett

The co-founder of Global Force Wrestling has a name synonymous with our industry, not just from his own accomplishments, but the rich history of his family who have promoted wrestling for over 70 years. Jarrett started in Memphis as a referee, but by the end of his teen years, he was already regularly competing and a rapidly rising star, catching attention both regionally and nationally. In 1993, Jeff entered the World Wrestling Federation where “Double J”, “Ain’t I Great?” and the infamous guitar first gained prominence. Jeff would capture the WWF World Tag Team Titles with the late Owen Hart, but is perhaps best remembered for his six reigns as WWF Intercontinental Champion which, for several years, was a record for the most reigns in company history. Jeff’s battles with the likes of “Razor Ramon” Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels are still talked about to this day. Jeff also was a dominant force in WCW, where he rose to fame (or infamy) with his propensity to refer to people as “Slap Nuts”. Jarrett would win four WCW World Titles which, in addition to six NWA World Titles under the TNA banner, plus his championship success later on in AAA in Mexico, put Jeff in elite company, as only a handful of stars in the history of our industry have won more World Titles than Jarrett. All told, Jeff has won over 70 championships in his career, most recently winning the King of the Mountain Title at TNA Slammiversary 2015.

In 2002, Jarrett showed that promoting was very much still in the Jarrett blood, as he and his father co-founded TNA – Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. A gutsy risk, Jeff revolutionized how wrestling can be presented – debuting weekly live pay-per-view events each and every Wednesday night featuring both timeless legends and an exciting new crop of rising talent that would go on to shape our industry to this day. Under Jeff’s direction, the company experienced growing pains and challenges, as any company would, but the overall growth and expansion is undeniable. Premiering on Fox Sports Net in 2004, then on Spike TV a little over a year later, TNA grew from a dream into a global powerhouse, televised in over 100 countries, viewed weekly by millions. Jeff continued to stay very active in the ring as well, showing he was willing to sacrifice his blood, sweat, and tears literally as well as figuratively. Matches with the likes of Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and Sting had the wrestling world buzzing, as Jeff continued committed to the cause both in the ring and behind the scenes. However, as 2014 came, Jeff came to a difficult conclusion, one that we all must face at one point or another in our lives… it was time to move on from something that he loved. Jeff parted ways with the place he called home for well over a decade, but it wasn’t to take time off or slow down, as weeks later, Jeff officially announced he and wife Karen were launching a new brand of professional wrestling that would be revolutionary and cutting-edge – Global Force Wrestling!

Now, the man who did the impossible, the man who did what no one else before him did – to take a wrestling promotion from scratch and turn it into a globally-recognized entity – is doing it again. With passion, faith, work ethic, and experience rivaled by very few, Jeff has succeeded and excelled where others told him he would fail, and taken risks and accepted challenges most men would shy away from. Jeff’s latest journey may still be in its early stages, but has already seen remarkable growth and, if history is any indication, we are in for a long and exciting road ahead in Global Force Wrestling!
